A Coalition Government will take direct action and reduce emissions without a great big tax on everything Patrick Secker MP, Federal Member for Barker said today.
“The Coalition’s climate action policy provides incentives for Australian families and businesses to reduce their carbon emissions rather than Labor’s ETS which forces all Australian’s to pay.”
The Coalition’s policy is set to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions by five percent by 2020.
“I am extremely supportive of this practical, costed policy that will reduce emissions and address some of Australia’s serious environmental problems.”
“This careful and capped policy will not be funded through any new taxes or increased taxes like Labor’s great big new tax.”
The Coalition’s policy will cost $3.2 billion in contrast to the Labor Government’s ETS which will cost $40 billion.
“Australia will benefit from direct action that uses our nation’s abundance of soil and sun to our advantage.”
“Under a Coalition Government no Australian’s will be penalised unlike a Labor ETS that will destroy jobs and rip off the Australian public,” concluded Mr Secker.
